Chateau Leoville Barton 2012 champagne Under the ownership of GérardWinery Background and History Chteau Loville Barton, situated in the Saint Julien appellation of Bordeaux, France, has a storied history dating back to 1722 when Thomas Barton, an Irishman, established a wine merchant company in Bordeaux. In 1826, his grandson, Hugh Barton, purchased 50 hectares of vineyards in Saint Julien, laying the foundation for Chteau Loville Barton. Notably, there is no chteau on the property; the wines are vinified at the
