これらの写真は、現実の表層にある空虚さに似ている。ワンは、メタファーに富む作品制作よりも、光や色、影といったものに対して向かっていった。ある場面や瞬間では、ワンはストロボを使った撮影をし、その場面を彫刻的に作り上げたり、分析するようにしていった。また、彼は写真の中の世界を乱すように影を作り上げたのだ。（評：張君鋼）
